Kian Salem's FOAM

Kian Salem's FOAM

Rising artist Kian Salem, the creative force behind FOAM, is redefining what it means to make music with raw, unfiltered emotion. Hailing from LA, Salem’s journey into music wasn’t a straight path—it was one of resistance, rediscovery, and ultimately, revelation.

From Reluctant Guitarist to Frontman

Salem’s introduction to music was anything but voluntary. “My mom made me take guitar lessons at 9, and I hated it,” he admits. It wasn’t until forming a teenage cover band, Infraction, that he began to connect with music. But even then, his passion didn’t fully ignite until he picked up the guitar again at 19, unlocking a newfound ability to craft melodies and lyrics with ease—leading to the birth of FOAM.

The Philosophy of Realness Over Polish

In an industry obsessed with perfection, Salem stands apart. “Most artists take pride in polish—how crisp they can make their art. I do something different,” he explains. His approach? Authenticity above all.

“I don’t want to cover up. I want my music to be a raw representation of myself.” This means leaving in the cracks—voice breaks, slight timing imperfections—anything that preserves the human experienceof the performance. “It matters if you do it with feeling. Lead with feeling always; the other stuff can be ignored.”

New Music on the Horizon

FOAM’s latest single, “Elysium”, is the second release from their upcoming second EP, showcasing Salem’s signature blend of emotional honesty and gritty delivery. Next up? A stripped-down, live unplugged version of the track “Her”, further emphasizing the band’s commitment to unfiltered expression.

The Ultimate Goal: Dominance

Salem’s ambitions are anything but modest: “I want to be one of the biggest music acts of my generation.” With a sound built on truth and a relentless drive, FOAM is carving its own lane—one raw, real performance at a time.
